Join artist Louise Collier amidst the picturesque setting of Wonnerup House (a National Trust Property) for an unforgettable artistic experience unlike any other. Delight in the abundance of inspiration as you immerse yourself in the timeless beauty of en plein air painting (with soft pastels). Be inspired by the graceful lines of historic Wonnerup House and the rustic allure of surrounding buildings, the majestic embrace of towering trees, the serene charm of the beautiful gardens and breathtaking expanse of pastoral views.

This is a full day workshop and we supply all you need including artist quality art materials and art equipment for your use (including easels). We also provide a delicious morning tea and a glass of your favourite beverage and nibbles at the end of the day whilst you relax and soak up the ambience of this fabulous location (BYO lunch).

If you want to immerse yourself in nature and art this all day outdoor event is perfect for you. You don’t need to have ever used soft pastels before. All you need is a willingness to learn and express yourself! artist quality soft pastels and Art Spectrum Colourfix paper are used at this event and one frame is provided to finish your favourite art piece. This workshop is suitable for all levels. No experience is necessary. Children 12 and over allowed with an accompanying adult).

Notes on this location

Wonnerup House is a National Trust property and is located at 935 Layman Road, Wonnerup (Wonnerup House sits on Wadandi Country, less than 10 kilometres north of Busselton)

What we provide

$225.00 per person includes:

  • Guided step-by-step instruction and expert tuition from our experienced artist.

  • Use of all materials provided including ‘en plein air’ box easel, optional stool/chair, pastels, pastel paper, pastel accessories, rags , apron and a frame to complete your favourite art piece (you can expect to work on 1 to 2 pieces).

  • Delicious morning tea (BYO lunch).

  • Entry fee for self guided tour of Wonnerup House and other buildings.

  • Glass of wine or bubbles and nibbles afterwards to celebrate your creation whilst you enjoy the late afternoon ambience and beautiful views at Wonnerup house.

  • The masterpiece you create is yours to take home!

What to bring

  • Sunscreen and hat

  • Lunch

  • Water Bottle

  • A small stool is provided but you are welcome to bring along your own.

What to wear

  • An apron is provided but wear clothes that you don’t mind getting pastels on.  Pastels can be dusty and dirty!

  • Weather appropriate clothing and sturdy footwear suited to walking around the grounds.

Appropriate for

  • All levels - no experience is necessary.

  • Adults (children 12 and over allowed with an accompanying adult).

If we have to cancel an event due to inclement weather, an alternative date may be scheduled. If you are unable to attend the new date, you may have the choice to book another event at a later date. See our Terms and Conditions. Note that there are ample verandahs and shelter from the weather at this venue that can be utilised in the event of rain showers and/or windy conditions.
